Get Your Home Ready For Summer

01/07/2019

With the British weather being somewhat unpredictable, we always hope that the summer will be filled with beautiful sunshine. This time of year is perfect for spending a lot of your time outdoors, and there are a lot of little things you can do to help implement that summer vibe throughout your home. We have put together this guide of some simple changes you can make to your home, so you can make sure it shines throughout this season.

Garden

During the summer months, you will hopefully be spending the majority of your free time outside. Over the colder months, we do not tend to look after our outdoor space very. We can end up neglecting the lawn and plants, and it can end up looking a little bit messy.

In the summer, you may use this space for relaxing in or even for entertaining so it would be a great idea to tidy it up a little. From mowing the lawn to planting seasonal flowers and plants, the simplest changes can make a world of difference.

If you want to give your garden a whole new look, why not repaint the fence or even look into having the space landscaped? Having a great outdoor space is a really great selling point and is often at the top of many potential buyers lists!

Exterior

During the colder months, the rain and ice can often affect the exterior of your home, and this can make the paint look a little mucky. When the weather warms up, you can clean the outside of your home by using a pressure washer on the walls or even choose to repaint.

Windows

Due to the British weather and rain we have, windows can get really dirty from dust, pollution and water in general. We don’t tend to notice the state of our windows until the sun shines through them, so summer is the perfect time to give them a good clean. Of course, you can do this yourself or hire a professional instead. Having squeaky clean windows can help the light flow into your home, which is perfect during this time of year.

Brighten

If you want to brighten up your home this summer, why not look at refreshing the interior of your home? Depending on your personal taste and style, each room should feel airy and light. This can be achieved by decluttering certain spaces or even giving the rooms a whole new look. From the simple Scandinavian mustard and botanical to bold prints and bare materials, you just need to implement your own personal taste and style into your home.

Clean

One of the easiest ways to get your home ready for summer is to carry out a deep clean. By simply getting around to the small jobs you have been putting off for months can help you relax and enjoy this type of year. Decluttering can also help make rooms feel fresh and gives you the opportunity to make room for some new summer items.

Even though property sales can calm down during the summer due to many people choosing to spend time on holiday to take advantage of some much-needed time off, there are actually many benefits of putting your home on the market at this time of year. As the weather is better, it makes for some great photos and can often make properties look more attractive. Additionally, many potential buyers may be looking to move into a new home before the school year starts and this can often help you get a quick sale.
